Lacy element.

This tutorial is 101 photos long and shows step-by-step how to knot this lacy element. You can use the element as it is, or make minor alterations adjusting the basic form for your design.

Examples of my works, in which I used modified versions of the basic element.

The tutorial is aimed at those of you who knows basic macrame knots. The used knots are: mounting knot (Lark’s Head broader version), HDHH, Wrapping, frivolite. If you are not sure about your knotting skills or the name of the knots, please, check the free lessons in my school: http://artnodus.ru/en/category/school. (Opens in the new window). You will find detailed description of the above knots.

The lacy element is about 3 cm (1.2 inches) long, with max width of 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) when made of unwaxed 0.3mm polyester cord.

Materials:

*your favorite knotting thread. Cut it at a convenient length about 60 cm. Mind that if you use a thicker cord you will need longer pieces of cord for knotting.
